Dear Readers,
Article submission in IJPO has increased in the recent times. A good number of manuscripts especially original research papers from across the globe have started pouring in. These articles give a boost to the journal besides increasing it visibility as well as its brand value.
Salivary gland lesions are a common problem especially when they carry along with them a high risk of malignancy. FNAC provides a quick and accurate diagnosis in majority of the cases. Milan scoring system helps in identifying the high risk cases. Early diagnosis provides a better management in such cases.1 Carcinoma breast helps in evaluating the prognostic aspects of the patients. Use of proliferative markers especially Ki67 and p53 serve as an important biomarker in patients with breast cancer and finally helpful in treatment planning.2 Cancer of oral cavity is now a leading cause of cancer related deaths worldwide. Morbidity and mortality both are very common with oral cancers. Most of these are squamous cell type. Article by Chandrakanta et al highlights the Ki 67 expression in these tumours.3
Nephropathy is a serious and life threatening disorder in diabetics. Measurement of albumin level in urine is a useful marker but not a sensitive or specific one. Glycosylated haemoglobin levels correlate well with the diabetic status of patients. It is however important to note that continuous monitoring helps in monitoring the progression and treatment of patients.4
The deadly COVID – 19 is still rampant and is on its spree. D-Dimer has been helpful in identifying the severity of the disease and also in the management of COVID – 19 patients. It now forms an important biomarker in such patients.5
I am sure that with such a spectrum of diseases and array of lesions, the readers would be benefitted. We have tried to make IJPO more interesting. I urge all our esteemed readers to respond back with their comments to us so that we may upgrade and also improve the journal further.
